After weeks of rumors and anticipation Apple Inc yesterday evening finally confirmed that they are bringing the “Touch-ID” fingerprint sensor into the new iPad.
The total World Tablet market in 2013 was around 195 million units (Gartner Group). Apple sold 70 of these. Now the pressure is on in the rest of the 125 million units tablet market.

September 4th World no 3, Huawei launched a silicon area sensor implemented in the rear side of their Ascend Mate 7 “Phablet” (size between a phone and a tablet).
Later in September NEXT launched a 30 per cent smaller touch area sensor (144 mm2 active area) targeted at the mobile and tablet markets .
