In Taipei, Taiwan last week NEXT entered an expanded version of a major 3 year partnership agreement originally entered with KOEHLKE International (part of The FORESHOT Group) in 2012. The new and revised agreement now also includes a part of a joint venture between KOEHLKE and a market leading Indian system integrator. The first segments to be targeted includes Access Control and Time & Attendance. Later stages will expand into personal handheld Bluetooth and NFC devices.
The agreement targets a minimum volume of 100 k sensors in year 1, 900 k sensors in year 2 and 3000 k sensors in year 3. It is estimated that roughly 1/3 of these volumes will be replacements of competing sensor suppliers and the rest to come from the market expanding potential of the NEXT technology.
First shipments of product will take place in May 2014.
