Oslo, November 5, 2020 – NEXT Biometrics (Oslo Bors:NEXT) a company in fingerprint sensor technology, today announce its FAP20 sensor integrated into Newland´s point of sales (POS) device, has received formal certification by Nigeria Inter-bank Settlement System (NIBSS). The POS device is the world’s first payment terminal passing biometric certification requirements in Nigeria.
Newlands POS device including NEXT’s FAP20 sensor has undergone rigorous tests by the Nigerian authority NIBSS as a part of the certification process. The biometrics features of NEXT’s FAP20 sensor integrated into the Newland fingerprint-enabled payment terminal has been found to comply with all requirements fit for the market in Nigeria and ready to be deployed to end-customers.
NEXT announced an order of FAP20 biometric sensors from business partner Newland on the 29th of September. These sensors were procured as a part of Newlands planned early introduction in Nigeria.
