Oslo, June 22, 2020 – NEXT Biometrics (Oslo Bors: NEXT), a global company in fingerprint sensor technology, today announce it has received an order for fingerprint biometric readers in India to a value of USD 417.400. The customer has provided 60% upfront payment and the initial shipment of Next UIDAI and STQC certified fingerprint biometric readers will be delivered during Q2 and remaining volume during Q3 2020.

Next products will be used by the government of Tamil Nadus “Public Distribution System” -program aiming at improving living standards of citizens in rural areas. As part of the program, NEXT Biometrics’ fingerprint readers will be used for Aadhar Authenticated distribution of food supplies to the Citizens of Tamil Nadu.

The purchase order reflects an increased demand for biometric solutions tied to the Government’s Aadhaar program, which continues to provide NEXT with opportunities to expand its share of a growing Indian market.
