Oslo, October 5th, 2022 – NEXT Biometrics (Oslo Bors: NEXT), has received a NOK 6 million order of the flagship FAP20 product from a Singapore based distributor. The order has already been delivered.

This new partner becomes a NEXT distributor covering selected countries in Asia. The distributor is among the largest globally, and will take an important role in NEXT’s expansion in the fingerprint sensor market in India. It will serve as the importer of fingerprint sensors and act as a fulfillment partner in India, which will secure improved availability of sensors in relevant regions. The initial NOK 6 million order is linked to NEXT’s previously announced Indian OEM partner, who, with this order, is already ahead of its minimum commitment to NEXT. Fulfillment to this partner will be performed by the Singapore distributor.

“The NOK 6 million order, and our new distributor partnership, provide confidence in our updated go to market strategy for India. The order is a strong indication that the official Aadhaar L1 program is one step closer to market launch, even if the exact date is outside our control,” said Ulf Ritsvall, SVP of Sales & Marketing of NEXT Biometrics.

This announcement in combination with NEXT earlier communicated and updated go-to-market strategy for India demonstrates an improved distribution and market position for NEXT.
