Ritu Favre

Chief Executive Officer

Ritu Favre joined NEXT Biometrics as CEO in February 2017. She is a successful and proven high-tech industry leader with over 25 years’ experience in the development, launch, and management of cutting-edge RF and fingerprint sensor human interface solutions.

Prior to joining NEXT, Ritu consistently built profitable, growing businesses while holding senior management positions with market leaders such as Motorola, Freescale and Synaptics.

Ritu received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University. She is based in Silicon Valley, California.

Knut Stålen

Chief Financial Officer

Prior to becoming Chief Financial Officer at NEXT Biometrics in 2014, Knut’s career included serving as CFO for Trolltech, Microsoft Norway Mamut and CFEngine AS.

During his tenure at Trolltech ASA and Mamut ASA, Knut was instrumental in their acquisition by Nokia (2008) and Visma (2011), respectively. In addition to his involvement in the sale of these companies, Knut also led the effort to take Trolltech public in 2006.

Knut is based in Oslo, Norway.

Matias Troccoli, PhD

Chief Advisor for Special Projects

Matias Troccoli is NEXT’s Chief Technology Officer and was the company’s first employees, joining NEXT in 2006 after performing active thermal sensor research at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He has more than 15 years’ experience working with Polysilicon TFT devices and systems, NEXT’s core production process.

In the process of building the company’s R&D and engineering teams, Matias helped bring the first generation of NEXT sensor modules to mass production, delivering millions of modules to Tier-1 PC customers. Matias now manages core technology projects, including future research, technology development and transfer to mass production.

Matias earned his doctorate and master’s degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Lehigh University. He has had numerous papers published and holds several patents. He is based in Bellevue, Washington.

Dan Cronin

Chief Operating Officer

Dan Cronin is an accomplished R&D executive with extensive experience in all aspects of engineering and development. He is highly-regarded for his expertise in end-to-end product development. Prior to joining NEXT, Dan held senior management and technical positions with Motorola, Freescale, NXP and IBM.

Dan received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and his master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is based in Austin, Texas.

Zehira Dadon-Sitbon

Chief of Staff and HR Officer, Senior Vice President of Business Operations

Known as an expert in program, product and business management, Zehira has established a solid record leading organizational change toward achieving business success in the tech industry. Prior to joining NEXT, she held senior management positions in Motorola, Philips, Freescale and Synaptics.

Zehira received her bachelor’s degree from Bar-Ilan University and her MBA from the University of Bradford. She is based in Silicon Valley, California.

Robert Mueller, PhD

Chief Technology Officer

Robert has more than 20 years’ experience in the biometrics, smart card and IT security industries. He created ground-breaking products, solutions and received several patents while working for companies that include Siemens, Giesecke & Devrient and BMW, prior to joining NEXT in 2010.

Robert has delivered numerous scientific papers and lectures as part of his professional life and he is an active contributor working with industry standards bodies.

Robert received his PhD in Computer Science from Munich University of Technology. He is based in Munich, Germany.

Alain Faburel

Chief Sales and Marketing Officer

Alain Faburel leads the global sales and marketing organization at NEXT Biometrics. In addition to a lengthy history leading innovative and successful sales and marketing organizations, Faburel has extensive experience in smart card and digital security technologies.

Highlights of his career include nine years (1999 to 2008) with Gemalto culminating in his role as senior vice president of sales for Southern Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa in the company’s Secure Transaction business unit. Faburel also served as senior vice president of Sales and Marketing at CPS Technologies and as vice president and general manager for the Security business unit at Crocus Technology.

Prior to joining NEXT, Faburel was with IDEMIA where he served as vice president, pre-sales for powered cards. He earned his master’s degree in marketing and sales from INSEEC Alpes-Savoie.
